Italian Meatball & Mozzarella Ziti Bake

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Garofalo extra virgin olive oil

  • 200g meatballs

  • 1 onion, diced

  • 6 cloves garlic, sliced

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 1 tsp dried parsley

  • 1 tsp dried basil

  • 1 tbsp tomato puree

  • 150ml red wine

  • 400g Garofalo chopped tomatoes

  • 200g Garofalo ziti lunghi

  • 100g shredded mozzarella

  • Basil leaves, to garnish

  • Sea salt and black pepper to taste

Preparation

    - Preheat the oven to 180C. Heat your Garofalo extra virgin olive oil and saute the meatballs until golden brown.

    - Add diced onions and garlic, season with salt, pepper, oregano, parsley and basil and cook for 10 mins.

    - Add tomato puree and cook for one minute. Deglaze the pan red wine, then add your Garofalo chopped tomatoes and 800ml water.

    - Pour into a deep baking dish and break in the Garofalo ziti lunghi.

    - Sprinkle over the parsley and shredded mozzarella. Bake for 40 minutes.

    - Remove from the oven and serve in bowls adding a basil garnish. Enjoy!
